Tripura has experienced significantly below-normal daytime temperatures for five days, with a recorded drop of 8.6 C on January 5, the largest in the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts these cooler conditions will persist for another two to three days. Additionally, the IMD has issued dense fog warnings across the state, prompting the government to close schools until January 10 and advise transport authorities and residents to take precautions.
