A mini-bus carrying tourists from Tamil Nadu met with an accident near the Kakkadampoyil ecotourism spot on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Police reported that brake malfunction caused the vehicle to hit a mud wall. While one woman sustained a leg fracture, several children on board were unharmed. The injured were transported to a private hospital in Mukkam.
