
China has reaffirmed its territorial claims over the Shaksgam Valley, stating that infrastructure projects there are justified and "beyond reproach." India strongly objects, asserting the valley is Indian territory and that the 1963 China-Pakistan boundary agreement, through which Pakistan ceded the land to China, is illegal and invalid. India also rejects the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) passing through the region. China maintains its actions are within its sovereign rights and do not alter its stance on the Kashmir issue.
