Doctors and staff at King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow threatened to shut down OPD services on January 13 if an FIR was not registered following an incident on January 9. The incident involved a visit by UP Women's Commission Vice Chairperson Aparna Yadav and alleged vandalism and misbehavior. The joint committee of employees issued a 24-hour ultimatum. The OPD shutdown threat was deferred to January 14 after KGMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nityanand met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who assured prompt action. The university administration also suspended its internal fact-finding committee, with the STF now probing the matter.
