Bangladesh has temporarily suspended visa services, excluding business and work visas, at its High Commission in New Delhi and Deputy High Commissions in Kolkata and Agartala, citing security concerns. This reciprocal measure follows India's earlier visa restrictions on Bangladeshi nationals. Visa operations continue at missions in Mumbai and Chennai. The move occurs amid strained bilateral ties since the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government and is also linked to protests near Bangladeshi facilities in India. Separately, Bangladesh is seeking exemption from a new US visa bond requirement.
