The Indian government plans to implement vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication technology to significantly reduce road accidents and fatalities. This system will enable cars to wirelessly exchange real-time data on speed, location, and braking, alerting drivers to potential hazards like blind spots and sudden stops. The Department of Telecommunications will allocate spectrum for this technology, which is expected to be mandated in new vehicles. Officials aim to decrease crashes by up to 80 percent, particularly in low-visibility conditions.
