The Karnataka High Court has directed the state government to reconsider and potentially scrap the Bengaluru-Mysuru Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project, citing its lack of progress over 30 years with only one kilometer of the proposed expressway constructed. Justices D.K. Singh and Venkatesh Naik T. observed that the project, conceived in 1995 to decongest Bengaluru and develop townships, has led to extensive litigation and remained largely on paper. The court suggested initiating a fresh project, discarding the old framework, to better serve the city's development and environment.
