The Election Commission has ordered the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) against five poll officials in West Bengal for alleged procedural lapses during the special revision of electoral rolls. The officials, including Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Registration Officers, are accused of irregularities in form distribution and collection. This action follows the identification of significant "logical discrepancies" in draft rolls, though the number of such cases has since been reduced after evaluation. A Special Roll Observer will also review the revision process in several districts.
