A Bhumi Puja ceremony for a new bridge over the Pottepalem sluice spillway in Nellore district is scheduled for January 5, 2026. The 4.85 crore project, sanctioned by the state government, aims to provide safer and easier connectivity to western parts of the district, a long-standing demand. The bridge will benefit multiple constituencies and resolve issues caused by water flow over the spillway for up to seven months annually, which currently disrupts traffic and poses risks to vehicles.
