In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, over 400 activists from the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) were booked by police for protesting outside the SSP office. The activists staged a dharna and gheraoed the office, using tractors and demanding a ban on refuse-derived fuel (RDF) used by paper mills, citing pollution concerns. The protest, which reportedly disrupted official work and blocked roads, was called off Saturday evening. A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
