
Veteran Samajwadi Party leader and eight-time MLA from Uttar Pradesh's Duddhi constituency, Vijay Singh Gond, passed away at the age of 71 in Lucknow. He died on Thursday at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) after a prolonged illness, reportedly due to multi-organ failure and kidney issues. Gond was a prominent tribal leader, known for advocating for tribal rights and welfare. His political career began in 1980, and he represented the Duddhi seat across multiple parties before his final tenure with the SP.
