The CPI(ML) Liberation party claims two of its leaders, Sudhakar Yadav and Jeera Bharti, were arrested in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday. The party stated the arrests occurred without a warrant or stated reason as the leaders returned from a funeral. CPI(ML) Liberation asserts Yadav and Bharti were leading protests for Adivasi rights under the Forest Rights Act and against displacement and bulldozer actions. The party also reported a forest department bulldozer operation on Saturday in an Adivasi settlement.
