The Supreme Court has ordered a forensic examination of the entire 48-minute audio recording allegedly implicating former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in the 2023 ethnic violence. The court directed that the full audio clip and the former CM's voice samples be sent to the National Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar for expedited analysis and a sealed report. This follows previous forensic reports that found portions of the audio tampered with, with the petitioner alleging that only edited clips were initially sent for examination.
