China has reportedly hacked email systems used by staff on key U.S. House committees as part of a cyber-espionage operation dubbed 'Salt Typhoon,' according to a Financial Times report citing sources familiar with the matter. The affected committees include those focused on China, foreign affairs, intelligence, and armed services. U.S. officials allege the group, attributed to China's Ministry of State Security, is also positioning itself to disrupt critical infrastructure. Beijing has denied involvement in such intrusions.
