The Indian Army is seeking indigenous loitering munitions, commonly known as suicide drones, capable of deep strikes into enemy territory and operating under heavy jamming. Tenders for the approximately ₹2,000 crore project are expected soon, with plans to equip multiple units. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers and foster domestic manufacturing capabilities. The contract will be split between two lowest bidders after trials, with major Indian defense companies anticipated to compete for the order.
