The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in Bhopal has registered an FIR against three former Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board officials, including ex-chairman Shaukat Mohammed Khan, for allegedly causing a financial loss of approximately Rs 2.54 crore annually. The officials are accused of leasing Waqf Board properties at below-guideline rates and granting construction permissions without proper approval. An investigation found that 185 properties were leased significantly below their market value, resulting in a substantial rent collection shortfall.
