Delhi Police has registered an FIR or NCR concerning alleged objectionable slogans raised during a student event at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The university administration filed a complaint after slogans reportedly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were chanted during a gathering marking the anniversary of the 2020 campus violence. The FIR is filed under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to public mischief and provocation. Student leaders claim the slogans were ideological and part of an annual protest.
