Delhi's Forest Department is using 1,275 kg of chicken meat to deter black kites from Republic Day air show flight paths. This annual exercise, coordinated with the Indian Air Force, aims to prevent bird strikes by feeding kites at designated locations between January 15 and 26. This year marks a switch from buffalo meat to chicken, balancing wildlife management with the smooth conduct of celebrations. The initiative targets areas with high kite concentration, ensuring birds remain engaged at lower altitudes.
