A Booth Level Officer (BLO) in Malda, West Bengal, died allegedly due to work-related stress during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The deceased's family and a local Trinamool Congress councillor cited excessive workload pressure as the cause. The BJP, however, suggested that pressure from Trinamool leaders regarding voter list revisions also contributed, rejecting sole blame on the Election Commission.
