Nicaragua has arrested at least 60 individuals reportedly for celebrating or supporting the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by U.S. forces. The NGO Blue and White Monitoring reported these arrests as arbitrary, with many detainees held without legal status. Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo are allies of Maduro. Reports suggest the arrests followed a "state alert" ordered by Murillo, targeting social media comments and private expressions of support for Maduro's capture.
