Surendra Pathare, son of Wadgaonsheri MLA Bapusaheb Pathare, has declared assets worth ₹271.85 crore, making him the wealthiest candidate in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) polls. Pathare, an engineer making his electoral debut, has significant real estate holdings, luxury vehicles, and gold jewellery. Sayali Wanjale is the second-richest with ₹77.65 crore. Both wealthiest candidates recently joined the BJP. The BJP has announced candidates for 165 seats, including allies contesting on its symbol, with campaigning now underway.
