He stated only one fatality occurred on December 31, 2025, a decrease from previous years. Guwahati's Joint Commissioner of Police noted a drop in accidents and registered traffic violations in the city, alongside improved fine collection and conviction rates. The police also reported a decrease in property and vehicle theft cases.
