The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Election Commission of India's (ECI) Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal. The TMC alleges the ECI has acted arbitrarily and outside legal procedures, citing issues like communication via WhatsApp and barring of agents. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated she will personally appeal to the court as an ordinary citizen to protect democratic rights, alleging the process has caused harassment and deaths.
