
Chhattisgarh Congress MLA Baleshwar Sahu was arrested and sent to judicial custody until January 22 in a cheating and forgery case. The MLA, previously a cooperative society manager, is accused of defrauding a farmer of over ₹42 lakh between 2015 and 2020 by allegedly transferring funds and forging signatures. Police stated investigations found the allegations true, leading to a chargesheet and bail rejection. The Congress party has called the arrest a conspiracy by the BJP.
