Safaris in Bandipur and Nagarhole national parks are set to resume in phases following a suspension due to human-wildlife conflict. The State Wildlife Board, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, decided to form an expert committee to assess safari vehicle capacity and potential wildlife disturbance before operations restart. The committee will also explore conflict mitigation measures. The decision aims to balance wildlife conservation with public interest and local livelihoods, which have been impacted by the suspension. Concerns about tiger overpopulation and habitat displacement were also discussed.
