Speaking at a literary event celebrating Rajanarayanan's "Karisal landscape" writings, she praised journalist Shubashree Desikan's translation of "The People of Gopallapuram." Thangapandian described the translated work as a mirror reflecting the voices of the marginalized, commending the Tamil Nadu government for making such works accessible to English readers.
