Ahead of the Panvel Municipal Corporation elections, the State Excise Department has intensified its crackdown on the illegal liquor trade. Since December 15, the department has registered 47 cases, seized over 932 liters of illicit liquor, and confiscated materials worth Rs 12.23 lakh. Preventive actions were taken against five individuals. Special teams are conducting night patrols and joint inspections, with warnings issued to licensed vendors to adhere to regulations. Dry days will be enforced on polling and counting days.
