India Commissions Indigenous Pollution Control Vessel Samudra Pratap in Goa

India has commissioned its first indigenously designed and built pollution control vessel, the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Samudra Pratap, in Goa. The 114.5-meter vessel, with over 60% indigenous content, is the largest in the ICG fleet and enhances capabilities in marine pollution control, maritime law enforcement, and search and rescue. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the vessel's role in India's maritime vision and self-reliance, also noting the inclusion of women officers in frontline operations.
