
The Karnataka Cabinet has approved issuing 'A' Khata certificates to properties with 'B' Khata status located in unauthorized layouts within urban local body limits. This policy decision, applicable to sites, buildings, apartments, and flats, requires developers to obtain layout approval from competent authorities. Minister H.K. Patil stated this aims to regularize thousands of properties, similar to a previous decision for Bengaluru, and is a policy move not currently stayed by any court.
