Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma downplayed an electoral survey predicting the BJP's return in the 2026 Assembly polls, stating it is too early to draw conclusions. He emphasized that alliance dynamics, seat-sharing, and candidate finalization are yet to occur, and public response on the ground is more crucial than survey projections. Sarma also indicated that following delimitation, the BJP might contest up to 103 constituencies and is likely to field new candidates in some seats.
