Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand has stressed the importance of energy efficiency and conservation in government operations to reduce power demand, cut public spending, and meet sustainability targets. During a review meeting, officials discussed initiatives like Demand Side Management, Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), and market surveillance. The Chief Secretary called for stronger ECBC enforcement, expansion of Energy Clubs in educational institutions, and establishment of Energy Conservation Cells in government departments. He also emphasized strengthening energy auditing for industries and implementing efficiency measures in public buildings and facilities.
