
Pakistan has proposed an out-of-court settlement to Iran regarding the stalled Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project, citing US sanctions as the primary obstacle. Islamabad has indicated a willingness to revive the project if a US sanctions waiver is secured, alongside demands for reduced gas volumes and lower prices. Iran, which has initiated legal proceedings over the project's delay, has reportedly extended the gas sale agreement. Pakistan also cited lower domestic demand and higher IP gas prices compared to LNG as reasons for its current stance.
