
Violent clashes erupted in Dhaka as mobile phone traders protested the National Equipment Identity Register (NEIR) system, blocking major intersections. Traders demanded the postponement and withdrawal of the NEIR system, reforms to its implementation, and the release of arrested individuals. Police used batons and water cannons to disperse the protesters, resulting in injuries and detentions. The Mobile Business Community Bangladesh (MBCB) organized the demonstrations.
