Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that social media platforms must be held responsible for the content they publish, especially concerning AI-generated indecent images of women. He indicated that a parliamentary committee has recommended a stringent law to enforce platform accountability. The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has previously warned platforms of legal action if they fail to address unlawful content, emphasizing the need for intervention and review of compliance frameworks.
