
Arunachal Pradesh has entered organized commercial floriculture with its first consignment of 2,000 Asiatic Lilium stems sent to Guwahati, Assam, generating approximately Rs 1 lakh for local farmers. Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced the initiative, supported by the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, aims to promote high-quality flower cultivation across the state's diverse agro-climatic conditions. Additionally, a Geographical Indication (GI) application for Upper Subansiri oranges has been filed to protect and promote unique farm produce.
