Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to reveal alleged links between Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi and Pakistan by the end of January. Sarma stated that documents are being prepared and claimed the information goes beyond election prospects, questioning Gogoi's family's British citizenship. The Chief Minister mentioned a previous delay in disclosure due to the death of cultural icon Zubeen Garg. A Special Investigation Team had previously probed alleged interference by a Pakistani national linked to Gogoi's wife.
