The head of a peace committee, Qadam Khan, was injured in an IED blast targeting his vehicle in the Sarwakai area of Upper South Waziristan, Pakistan. The blast destroyed his vehicle, and he was hospitalized. Security forces have cordoned off the area and initiated a search. This incident follows another blast in the district within 24 hours that injured a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader, who later died.
