The Telangana government plans to introduce a new law requiring state employees to financially support their elderly parents. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that a portion of salaries, estimated between 10-15 percent, could be deducted and directly deposited into parents' accounts if neglect is proven. This initiative aims to ensure the dignity and security of senior citizens, with the government also establishing 'Pranaam' day-care centers for them. The proposed legislation is expected to be tabled in the upcoming budget session.
