The Supreme Court has ordered a forensic examination of a full 48-minute audio clip allegedly implicating former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in the 2023 ethnic violence. The court directed that the entire recording, along with admitted voice samples, be sent to the National Forensic Science University in Gandhinagar for expedited analysis and a sealed report. This follows previous forensic reports indicating the audio might be tampered with, and petitioners alleging that only edited clips were initially sent for examination.
