Security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region reported killing 14 Maoists in separate encounters in Sukma and Bijapur districts on Saturday. Twelve Maoists were killed in Sukma, and two in Bijapur, with officials recovering weapons including AK-47s and INSAS rifles. Among the deceased in Sukma was Mangdu, identified as the secretary of the Konta area committee. These operations are part of intensified anti-Maoist campaigns, with the government aiming to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026.
