Kuki-Zo community representatives in Manipur, including MLAs and insurgent groups, have set a deadline for a political settlement, demanding a Union Territory with a legislature before the next state assembly election. They resolved to join the state government if given a written commitment from the Centre and State to support their demand. A mass rally is planned to push for this separate administration, citing the ongoing ethnic conflict and displacement since May 2023.
