Following its defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, the state Congress has expelled seven leaders and issued show cause notices to 36 others for alleged anti-party activities and indiscipline. The actions were initiated by a newly constituted state-level disciplinary committee. Six additional leaders have been referred to the All India Congress Committee for further action. These measures come after the party secured only six seats in the 243-member Assembly.
