Pimpri-Chinchwad, a traditional stronghold of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is showing a shift in political control. Currently, only one legislator, Anna Bansode of the NCP, represents the city, while four others—Mahesh Landge, Shankar Jagtap, Amit Gorkhe, and Uma Khapare—belong to the BJP. This marks a change from Pawar's earlier dominance, where he was credited with the city's development and held significant influence over local leaders and the civic body for years.
