The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has resumed construction on a ₹22 crore vehicular underpass on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 48) in Ranipet. Work had stalled due to the previous contractor abandoning the project. NHAI officials stated that incomplete sections are being addressed, traffic is diverted, and safety features, lighting, and road surfacing will be installed. The underpass aims to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents by accommodating various vehicles and decreasing U-turn points.
