The Noida Authority informed the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that it treats 260 million litres per day (MLD) of wastewater but reuses only one-third, discharging the remaining 174 MLD into drains. Projections to increase reuse to 34 MLD by mid-2026 were deemed insufficient by experts. The NGT had previously flagged the underutilization of treated sewage water, which is currently used for irrigation, construction, and firefighting.
