The Indian Navy's First Training Squadron, comprising INS Tir, INS Shardul, INS Sujata, and ICG ship Sarathi, is undertaking a long-range training deployment to Southeast Asia. The mission includes port calls in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, aiming to enhance operational exposure, maritime diplomacy, and cooperative security. The deployment also involves six international officer trainees and personnel from the Army and Air Force, reinforcing jointness and capacity building with friendly nations as part of India's Act East Policy.
