Karnataka's Tourism Department has identified 11 beaches across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts as potential Blue Flag candidates. The development, estimated at ₹142.06 crore, includes infrastructure upgrades, educational programs, and environmental management. The department also noted a rise in tourist footfall in coastal Karnataka and identified five national waterways for river cruise tourism development.
