Manipur's petrol pumps in valley areas have begun an indefinite strike from January 10, protesting a bomb attack on a fuel station in Bishnupur district. The Manipur Petroleum Dealers Fraternity (MPDF) cited serious security concerns, stating that dealers and staff remain under threat despite government assurances. They demand enhanced security, government responsibility for future incidents, and compensation for damages and potential injuries or fatalities. Discussions between MPDF and government officials have so far failed to reach an agreement, leading to disruptions in fuel supply and a rise in black market prices.
