The Bharatiya Vichara Kendram (BVK), a Sangh Parivar outfit, has called for a central law to govern temple administration, citing concerns over alleged corruption, politicisation, and mismanagement. At its 43rd annual conference, the organization adopted a resolution expressing alarm over issues like alleged gold loss at the Sabarimala temple and political interference in Devaswom Boards. The BVK stated that such problems, also reported in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, undermine temple sanctity and are an embarrassment to the Hindu community, necessitating urgent legislative action.
