
Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee promised to increase the daily wage of tea garden workers in West Bengal to Rs 300 if the party wins the upcoming assembly elections. Addressing a rally in Alipurduar, Banerjee acknowledged the current wage of Rs 250 is insufficient and pledged a tripartite meeting with unions and management within a month of forming the government. He also highlighted the state government's welfare schemes and criticized the BJP for allegedly withholding funds.
